Beyond the Chocolate Bunny

Tween Boy Easter Basket Gift Guide

I had a realization this year: my boys don’t need five pounds of jellybeans—they need gear for the diamond! By swapping out some of the chocolate for baseball cards and fresh grip tape, I’m transforming the traditional Easter basket into a Season Kick-Off Kit.

It’s practical, it’s fun, and it saves me a frantic trip to the sporting goods store later this month. This year’s haul includes:

  • The Essentials: New cleats, socks, and ball pants.

  • The Upgrades: Fresh grip tape and a few packs of baseball cards.

  • Dugout Snacks: Sunflower seeds and plenty of Big League Chew.

  • Basket Fillers: Fun "squishy" fidgets

Of course, I couldn't skip the classics. Did you see that Peeps released a Dr Pepper flavor?! I also tucked in the traditional speckled eggs and—because no one can pass them up—a few peanut butter eggs.

Consider those the "Mommy Tax."
